The Peak’s Motorsports Instructor, Nick Petritz, is certified to teach the ROHVA (Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association) Driver Course. In addition to our military customers, he also offers this to recreational riders. Some insurance companies will give a discount for drivers that attend this course.
The Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association (ROHVA) promotes the safe and responsible use of recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs) manufactured or distributed in the United States. ROHVA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to develop a standard for the equipment, configuration and performance requirements of ROVs. Based in Irvine, Calif., the not-for-profit trade association is sponsored by BRP, Honda, Kawasaki, Polaris, Textron Specialized Vehicles, and Yamaha.
The ROHVA Driver Course is two parts: a 2-hour online e-Course ( ROHVA Safety E-Course) and a hands-on, 2.5 – 3-hour driver course. This course is for Drivers with little or no experience operating an UTV / ROV. It is also suited Federal, State & Private Agencies such as Military, Law Enforcement, Search & Rescue Fire Departments, Parks & Recreation, Commercial Organizations and so forth that have job, insurance or governmental requirements for certified training to operate UTVs/ROVs in their line of work.
The prerequisites are:
· 16 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license.
· Advanced Completion of the ROHVA e-Course is REQUIRED with Certificate of Proof.
· Can bring a UTV/ROV to class with Owner’s Manual (rentals available now).
· Driver must fit properly in UTV/ ROV and able to access all controls.
