Rod Alne

Rod Alne is the Founder and President of The Peak, Inc., a Butte, Montana-based training organization specializing in wilderness survival, mountaineering, tactical skills, and high-altitude operations for military, law enforcement, and civilian professionals.

Rod served 27 years in the United States Air Force as a Pararescueman (PJ), retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant in 2005. During his career, he was among the first special operators deployed to Afghanistan following the events of September 11, 2001. His extensive experience in mountaineering, high-altitude rescue, and survival operations highlighted critical gaps in military training for extreme environments.

Recognizing these shortfalls, Rod founded The Peak, Inc. in 2005 to pass on his decades of hard-earned knowledge. Drawing from his elite military background and three decades of mountaineering expertise, he developed specialized programs that bridge the gap between standard training and real-world operational demands.

A lifelong outdoorsman and instructor, Rod has trained thousands of personnel in wilderness medicine, rope rescue, tactical movement, and survival skills. He relocated to Butte, Montana, after retirement, where The Peak continues to deliver world-class training to military units, first responders, and wilderness professionals.
