We hosted two Air Force Pararescue Teams for their Combat Medical Training Course during back-to-back courses the last few weeks of July. Our partner, 911 Tactical Medicine, provided all of the advanced medical training during two very intensive week-long courses. Matt and his very professional crew of instructors provided awesome training despite a very ambitious schedule. The teams received training on a variety of advanced medical skills and were able to practice and reinforce the learned skills in several scenarios including a downed pilot, close quarters battle (CQB), confined space rescue, vehicle extrication, and mass casualty/medevac exercise.
A big thanks to all of our excellent role players, including members of the 15-90 Search and Rescue Team, that helped make them more realistic. I’m sure some of them are still trying to clean off fake blood from Mark’s moulage because when he does it “there will be blood”!!!
We would also like to thank the 40th Helicopter Squadron from Malmstrom AFB for supporting the team and providing medevac support. Their participation definitely enhanced the team’s learning experience.
